Job summary

Neta Care Holistic Health Services is looking for a Disability Support Worker to assist clients in Logan Reserve and surrounding areas. The role requires engaging clients at home and in the community, offering personal care, light domestic tasks, and transportation support where needed.

Applicants should have AUSLAN training and a solid background in supporting people with disabilities, with a current QLD driver's license and up-to-date First Aid/CPR and NDIS checks.

Qualifications

• Current QLD Driver’s License required for client transport.
• First Aid and CPR certificates must be current.
• Yellow Card/NDIS Workers Screening Check up to date.
• AUSLAN training or ability to obtain is essential.
• Experience supporting people with disabilities or complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist people to live independently in their home and community.
• Provide personal care including continence care and daily living tasks.
• Assist with light housework and meal support.
• Provide social support to people with disabilities and mental health needs.
• Support clients to attend appointments in the community.
• Assist with therapy-related activities per allied health plans.

This role provides rostered shifts that ensure stability and the opportunity to provide genuine impact with our clients. We are currently looking for Support Professionals to assist with daily living with participants across the - Logan Reserve Region.

We're currently looking for people who have a strong background and training in AUSLAN, we're currently recruiting for a client who is deaf so being efficient and knowledgeable in sign language is a must.

Role Description

• Assist people to live as independently as possible in their own home and in the community, remove barriers and engage in a full life;
• Personal care including continence care, mealtime management, helping people shower, getting dressed and performing daily activities, laundry etc.
• Assisting with light housework;
• Providing social support to people with disabilities and people experiencing mental health;
• Assist people with physical and psycho-social disabilities to remain independent in their own homes;
• Supporting clients to appointments in the community.
• Providing therapy assistance to support the implementation of physical, speech, OT and psychological plans and strategies (as directed by their allied health teams)
• Supporting people to develop and build self-confidence;
• Reviewing and updating care support plans

Qualifications and Experience

• Current QLD Driver’s License
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Current Yellow Card/NDIS Workers Screening Check
• Compulsory Comprehensive Insurance on private vehicle
• NDIS Orientation Certificate or ability to obtain.
• AUSLAN Training Cert
• Personal Care Experience
• Currently located around the Birkdale region or happy to drive

Certificate lll or IV in Disability or higher Experience supporting people with disabilities or complex needs Manual handling and medication training Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience with NDIS systems and documentation
