Job summary

Supporting Independent Living Co-operative in Glenmore Park seeks enthusiastic Disability Support Worker to assist three adult males with intellectual disabilities at home. You will provide compassionate, person-centred support, assist with daily living and promote independence, safety and well-being.

The casual role offers shifts including afternoons and weekends, with strong teamwork and ongoing training to support residents in building skills and meaningful daily activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Working With Children Check where required.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including afternoons and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support tailored to residents’ needs, preferences and goals.
• Assist with daily living activities, personal care and household tasks.
• Support community participation, social activities and appointments.
• Encourage independence, choice and decision-making.
• Implement individual support plans and behaviour support strategies.
• Administer medication where required and per policy.
• Maintain accurate shift notes, incident reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with families and other professionals.
