Discover Nursing Australia is seeking a friendly and reliable Disability Support Worker to support participants with community access and self-care in a flexible contractor role. You will work with participants to attend appointments, shop, attend social activities, and promote independence.

Key attributes include compassion, reliability, and excellent communication. You will be supported by a nurse-led team and have access to development opportunities within a supportive organisation.

Qualifications

• Active ABN (or willingness to obtain one).
• Australian working rights.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (current).
• National Police Check (current).
• First Aid Certificate and CPR (current).
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You (current).
• Driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, grooming, dressing and hygiene.
• Support meal preparation and light household tasks.
• Accompany participants into the community.
• Shop, attend appointments, and run errands.
• Visit cafés, parks, libraries, sporting events or social activities.
• Encourage social inclusion and community participation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist participants to achieve NDIS goals and promote independence.

About the Role

What You'll Need:

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
• A current driver's licence and reliable, insured vehicle (preferred for community access roles).
