Job summary

Endeavour Foundation is seeking Disability Support Workers to join SIL teams in Caboolture, Petrie or Woody Point. You’ll provide person-centred care in homes and help people live independently.

Role requires compassion, calm leadership and clear communication. Training, checks and driving may be required to support clients and strengthen community connections.

Qualifications

Disability Support Worker - Caboolture, Petrie or Woody Point

We’re looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) teams in either Caboolture, Petrie or Woody Point. You’ll support people with disability to live as independently as possible while providing consistent, person-centred care in their homes.

These roles suit support workers who can build trust, stay calm under pressure and provide clear, confident guidance when situations become challenging.

You’ll work alongside the people we support and your team to understand each person’s goals, routines and support needs. Your work may include:

• Supporting people with personal care, daily living tasks and household routines.


• Helping people develop skills and work towards their NDIS goals.


• Assisting with meal planning, cooking, appointments and community activities.


• Following Positive Behaviour Support Plans and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern.


• Communicating clearly with colleagues and documenting important changes or concerns.


• Helping people maintain connections with family, friends and their community.

You have strong, hands-on disability support experience, ideally in a SIL or residential setting. You’re comfortable supporting people with complex needs and behaviours of concern, and you know how to be both compassionate and appropriately firm. You can set clear boundaries, follow support plans and take a confident lead when a situation calls for it, while always treating the person with dignity and respect.

We’re also looking for:

• Experience providing personal care and supporting daily living activities.


• The ability to work effectively with a team and communicate clearly in written notes.


• A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a related qualification, preferred.


• Availability to work shifts that meet the needs of the homes.


• Good computer skills, including familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook.


• A current or willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card), First Aid and CPR certification, and a National Criminal History Check.


• An open driver’s licence and comprehensive insurance on your vehicle.
