Job summary

Beyond Able Care in Sydney is seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to help participants live independently at home, in group homes and within the community. You will support daily living skills, mobility and goal attainment while upholding dignity and privacy.

Shifts vary from 2 to 8 hours, with overnight availability preferred. You will need to drive your own car, hold a valid licence, be reliable, and bring a friendly approach. Casual, PPT and PFT options may apply after probation.

Qualifications

• NDIS worker screening (NDISWC) completed.
• Working with Children Check current.
• NSW Driver's Licence and access to own vehicle.
• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support or Disability qualification.
• First Aid current within 3 years.
• CPR within 12 months.
• Minimum 6 months experience in home or community care.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and assisting with eating and drinking.
• Mobility support including transfers, hoists, and wheelchairs.
• Social support and transportation.
• Support with behaviours of concern.
• Support participants' routines and decision making.
• Report and record as per company procedures.

Beyond Able Care is a top disability care provider offering support for individuals with disabilities throughout Sydney, Western Sydney and the Inner West. We are looking for passionate and committed Disability Support Workers to join our organisation. You will support our participants to live within their own homes, in group home settings and within the community, helping them increase their daily living skills, life skills and reach their individual goals.

Key responsibilities

• Meal preparation and assisting with eating & drinking
• Enabling mobility, including moving & handling transfers, hoists, and wheelchairs
• Social support & transportation
• Support with behaviours of concern
• Support and respect participants' routines
• Reporting & recording as per company's procedure at all times, adhering to company's policies & procedures
• Supporting our participants to make decisions & have choices
• Supporting our participants achieve their goals

We are currently looking for support workers who can do:

• Variety of shifts ranging from 2 - 8 hours
• Inactive overnight shift availability is desired
• Must be comfortable to use your own car and have a drivers licence
• Must be reliable and experienced.
• Flexible with friendly approach
• Looking for Casual, PPT and PFT (after a successful probation period)
• Monday to Friday and potential weekends
• Fixed Shifts

About you

• NDIS worker screening check (NDISWC)

• Own vehicle & comprehensive insurance
• Current First Aid (within 3 years)
• CPR (within 12 months)
• Certificate III/IV in individual support, Certificate III in disability, or relevant qualification
• Certificate of completion NDIS worker orientation online training
• Certificate of completion Infection control online training
• Minimum 6-month experience supporting clients in a home or community care setting
• Understanding & commitment to the principles of duty of care, and rights to privacy and confidentiality
• Punctuality and reliability
• Comfortable to use own vehicle for transportation services (travel allowances are available)
• Knowledge & experience supporting participants with disability or mental health
• Flexible with friendly approach
