Job summary

Prestige Inhome Care is seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to deliver person-centred care across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. You’ll support clients to live independently at home, providing personal care, mobility assistance, medication prompting and dementia-friendly strategies.

The role requires empathy, relevant aged care or disability qualifications, First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle. Flexible short-hour availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care, disability support or home care with complex needs.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Flexibility to support short-hour services in the Eastern Suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Support clients with showering, bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Assist with toileting and continence management.
• Support oral hygiene routines and dental care.
• Provide medication prompting and help with daily routines.
• Assist with eating and drinking and mobility aids as needed.
• Support clients with dementia using appropriate strategies.
• Provide catheter and stoma care where required.
• Offer companionship and emotional support, plus community access when needed.

About The Role

As a Personal Care Attendant, you will provide personalised support to clients with their daily living needs, including:

• Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Supporting clients with showering, bathing, dressing and grooming
• Toileting and continence management
• Assisting clients with oral hygiene routines
• Medication prompting
• Supporting clients with eating and drinking
• Assisting with mobility aids and equipment based on individual client needs
• Supporting clients living with dementia, including using appropriate strategies to respond to resistance to care
• Providing catheter and stoma care where required
• Providing companionship, emotional support and assistance with community access where required

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Attendant, Support Worker, or similar role within aged care, disability support, or home and community care
• Experience providing personal care and supporting clients with complex care needs
• Confidence assisting with catheter and stoma care (desirable)
• Experience supporting clients living with dementia and understanding strategies to promote positive care outcomes
• A relevant qualification in Aged Care, Individual Support, Disability Support, Nursing, or a related field
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle to travel between client appointments
• Flexibility and availability to support short-hour services across the Eastern Suburbs
