Job summary

Advantage Healthcare Support Nursing Agency is hiring a Disability Support Worker to assist a young female participant in Tarneit, VIC. The role focuses on daily living support, personal care, mobility, and community participation in the participant’s home.

The successful candidate will adapt to the participant’s needs, utilize communication methods, and collaborate with families and care teams, while ensuring safety and respectful, inclusive care. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• Female (participant preference).
• Tagalog- or Indonesian-speaking (participant preference).
• Experience supporting people with Cerebral Palsy and complex physical disabilities.
• Confident with personal care, manual handling and mobility support.
• Reliable and committed to providing consistent support.
• Able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with families and support teams.
• Comfortable supporting alternative and non-verbal communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain independence and wellbeing through daily personal care support.
• Assist with showering, dressing, hygiene, and continence care.
• Support safe transfers and mobility with prescribed equipment.
• Encourage participation in exercise and mobility activities.
• Assist with communication strategies and promote choice and independence.
• Access the community and participate in meaningful activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support respectfully and inclusively.

Advantage Healthcare Support (AHS) is looking for a caring and reliable Disability Support Worker to support a young female participant in her home.

About You:

• Female (participant preference).

About the Role

The participant has a physical disability and requires support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and communication.

The successful applicant will support the participant to:

• Maintain independence and wellbeing through daily personal care support.
• Assist with showering, dressing, hygiene, and continence care.
• Support safe transfers and mobility using prescribed equipment.
• Encourage participation in exercise and mobility activities.
• Assist with communication strategies and promote choice and independence.
• Access the community and participate in meaningful activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support respectfully and inclusively.

Shifts Available:

• Monday or Saturday (TBC on exact days).

Compliance Requirements:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (Service NSW).
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Preferably driving with a full Australian driver’s licence, own car with comprehensive car insurance.
