Job summary

Advantage Healthcare Support is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker in Tarneit, VIC to assist a young female participant at home. The role focuses on promoting independence, daily living activities and community participation with empathy and respect.

You will work with families and support teams, using communication strategies to support both verbal and non-verbal needs. Casual hours offered with flexibility and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be female due to participant preference.
• Tagalog or Indonesian language skills desirable due to participant preference.
• Experience with cerebral palsy and complex physical disabilities is required.
• Comfort with personal care, mobility support and communication strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities, personal care and mobility.
• Assist with showering, dressing, hygiene and continence care.
• Support transfers using prescribed equipment and promote independence.
• Encourage exercise and mobility activities and community participation.
• Provide companionship and respectful, inclusive support.

Advantage Healthcare Support (AHS) is looking for a caring and reliable Disability Support Worker to support a young female participant in her home.

About You

We are looking for a support worker who is:

• Female (participant preference).
• Tagalog-speaking or Indonesian-speaking (participant preference).
• Experienced supporting people with Cerebral Palsy and complex physical disabilities.
• Confident with personal care, manual handling and mobility support.
• Reliable and committed to providing consistent support.
• Able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with families and support teams.
• Comfortable supporting alternative and non-verbal communication methods.

About The Role

The participant has a physical disability and requires support with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and communication.

The Successful Applicant Will Support The Participant To

• Maintain independence and wellbeing through daily personal care support.
• Assist with showering, dressing, hygiene, and continence care.
• Support safe transfers and mobility using prescribed equipment.
• Encourage participation in exercise and mobility activities.
• Assist with communication strategies and promote choice and independence.
• Access the community and participate in meaningful activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support respectfully and inclusively.

Shifts Available

• Monday or Saturday (TBC on exact days).

Compliance Requirements

• NDIS Worker Screening Check (Service NSW).
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Preferably driving with a full Australian driver’s licence, own car with comprehensive car insurance.
