Job summary

United Supports invites compassionate and flexible Disability Support Workers to join our Central Coast teams. Immediate start available to help participants build independence and access their community.

roles include personal care, medication support, meal prep, transport, and daily living skills development across SIL and community settings. We value reliability, professionalism and a participant-centred approach.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent is desirable.
  • Current First Aid and CPR required.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) recommended.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check required.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Reliable, roadworthy vehicle for travel across the Central Coast.
  • Ability to travel across locations and shifts.
  • Experience supporting people with complex needs or health care plans desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Personal care, including showering, dressing and personal hygiene
  • Medication support within your training and responsibilities
  • Meal preparation, shopping and domestic assistance
  • Community access, appointments, social activities and transport
  • Supporting participants to develop daily living skills, independence and confidence
  • Supporting participants to work towards individual goals
  • Implementing participant-specific mealtime management, behaviour support and health care requirements
  • Providing support within the community and/or a SIL environment
  • Working various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers across locations

Your Role May Include:

Depending on the needs and goals of the participants you support, your duties may include:

  • Personal care, including showering, dressing and personal hygiene
  • Medication support within your training and responsibilities

  • Working a variety of shifts, which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepover shifts across various locations

All Disability Support Workers are expected to provide safe, respectful and person-centred support, follow participant plans and organisational procedures, maintain professional boundaries, and complete accurate and timely case notes and other required documentation.

  • A high standard of professionalism, communication and integrity
  • Strong attention to detail when completing case notes, documentation and WHS requirements
  • Flexibility to work across different participants, locations and shift types, including assisting with additional shifts where reasonably required
  • The ability to follow participant support plans, health care plans, behaviour support plans and organisational procedures
Skills and Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent – desirable
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current driver's licence
  • Reliable, roadworthy and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for work-related travel
  • Ability to travel across the Central Coast and work a variety of shift times, days and hours
  • Previous experience supporting people with complex needs, behaviours of concern and/or health care plans – desirable
