Job summary

Help at Hand Support Services is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team and make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. You will provide person-centred support, with varied daily routines including outings to the beach, movies or games, and accompanying clients to medical appointments.

Applicants must have a vehicle, current police/working with children checks, Cert III in Disability or equivalent, current first aid/CPR, a valid Australian driver’s

Qualifications

• Must have own fully insured and reliable vehicle.
• Current police check within 6 months (or international police check if applicable).
• CERT III in Disability or equivalent experience.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• First aid/CPR certificates current.
• Full and clean Australian driver’s license.
• Be punctual.
• Be reliable and flexible.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field.
• Ability to self-supervise and remain calm during crises.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support based on the individual needs of each client.
• Assist with daily activities and outings (e.g., beach, movies, games).
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and provide companionship at home.
