Job summary

Melba Support Services is seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to help people with disability live meaningful, self-directed lives across SIL, ISA, Community Participation programs, STA and other supports. You’ll tailor support to each person’s goals, preferences and needs, fostering independence and choice.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma of Community Services preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Working with Children Check.
• Australian Driver Licence.
• Willingness to work a range of shifts including weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

• Support people to build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist participation in community, recreational, educational and employment-related activities.
• Provide practical day-to-day support, including personal care and daily living assistance where required.
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance where required and authorised.
• Build positive relationships with people supported, families and support networks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality, person-led support.
