Job summary

Life Without Barriers in Newcastle supports people with disability in Shared Living or their own homes, providing personal care and daily living assistance. You will work across a 24/7 roster to empower clients to live as independently as possible.

Experience in mental health support, a NSW driver’s license, and a current First Aid certificate are required; you will contribute to safe, respectful, person-centred care with probity checks conducted.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health support.
• Valid NSW driver's license.
• First Aid certificate HLTAID003 or HLTAID011.
• Willingness to work across a 24/7 roster.
• Clear probity checks required.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with mental health challenges and complex needs.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, toileting and dressing.
• Advocate for client choice, expression, and engagement.
• Think creatively and adapt to individual preferences.
• Availability for sleepover shifts is essential.
