Job summary

Tasmanian Government is seeking a Manager Disability Services Policy and Programs to provide strategic leadership for policy development and whole-of-government initiatives in disability services. Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing strategic policy advice and management of complex and major reform initiatives and system-wide change programs and reporting processes within complex and politically sensitive environments.
• Highly developed management, leadership and organisational skills, including the ability to lead work programs, allocate priorities and resources, and deliver high-quality outputs across multiple competing demands priorities within stringent timeframes.
• Strong understanding of health service delivery, disability services or related human services within Tasmania across the public and community sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and accountability for planning, implementation, development and review of complex, whole-of-government initiatives and policy at state and national levels.
• Translate policy objectives into practical implementation plans, coordinating cross-agency activities, and driving delivery of Government policy initiatives and commitments including those under the Disability Rights, Inclusion and Safeguarding Act 2024.
• Lead work programs, manage resources and priorities across competing demands to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Engage with stakeholders across public and community sectors to inform policy and reform in disability services.
