Job summary

The Australian Energy Regulator seeks a Director – Workforce to lead multidisciplinary HR teams and embed better practice services across capability, recruitment, payroll, and reporting. You’ll shape workforce strategies aligned to agency priorities and advise senior leaders on trends and risks.

You will drive governance, workforce planning, and the AER’s capability framework, collaborating across the organisation to attract, develop and retain talent, while maintaining operational excellence

Qualifications

Experience leading multidisciplinary HR teams.
Experience implementing payroll and recruitment processes.
Ability to deliver workforce strategies aligned to agency priorities.
Knowledge of governance, reporting and compliance requirements.
Ability to provide strategic advice to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop HR teams across capability, recruitment, payroll and reporting functions.
Establish governance, policies, and reporting frameworks for the portfolio.
Oversee workforce planning and capability initiatives including the AER Workforce Plan.
Drive the development and delivery of the AER’s capability framework and development initiatives.
Provide high-level strategic advice to senior leadership on workforce strategy and risks.
