Job summary

The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking a Director – Workforce to lead the design and delivery of contemporary workforce strategies that ensure the agency attracts, develops and retains the skills needed to deliver its priorities. The role requires close collaboration across the AER and senior stakeholders to translate data into strategic actions.

Based in Australia, the Director – Workforce will guide workforce planning, policy development, and professional development initiatives

Responsibilities

Lead teams to embed better practice services across Capability, Recruitment, Payroll and Workforce Reporting functions.
Establish governance, policies, processes and reporting frameworks across the portfolio and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
Oversee the Capability, Recruitment, Payroll and Workforce Reporting functions to ensure compliance with legislative, industrial instrument and policy requirements.
Lead agency-wide workforce planning and capability initiatives, including design and delivery of the AER Workforce Plan.
Oversee development and delivery of the AER’s capability framework, leadership development and professional development initiatives.
Lead APS Census, workforce reporting and analytics, translating data and insights into actionable advice for senior leaders.
Provide high-level strategic advice to senior executives on workforce strategy, capability, resourcing and risks.
