The Australian Association of Social Workers invites applications for the Manager, Practice Advancement, a national leadership role advancing social work practice and professional capability. This position partners with members, social workers and stakeholders across government, academia and communities to shape the profession's future.

Reporting to the Director, Social Work Advancement, you will lead initiatives, build learning networks, and guide a high-performing team in a flexible hybrid

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification and AASW membership eligibility.
• Significant senior social work experience and understanding of contemporary practice.
• Experience leading practice advancement, workforce development or capability-building initiatives.
• Demonstrated people leadership and ability to deliver outcomes through others.
• Experience translating evidence and stakeholder insights into practical initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, influencing and communication skills.
• Experience in association/peak body environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of work focused on practice advancement and professional leadership.
• Strengthen practice support services, communities of practice and learning networks.
• Build strategic relationships with members, First Nations social workers, academics, government and sector partners.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team and foster collaboration across the organisation.
