Job summary

Lane Cove Council is seeking a Director of Operations to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across facilities, asset management, open spaces, sport and recreation, civic services, traffic and capital projects.

Reporting to the General Manager and a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will drive long-term asset planning, delivery of the capital program, and a safe, efficient, community-facing service delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in complex public sector environments.
• Proven delivery of capital and civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong financial, people, assets and risk management capabilities.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; postgraduate study desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Operations Directorate.
• Oversee facilities and asset management, open space, sport and recreation facilities, civic services, traffic and transport, capital project delivery and the commercial operations, including the property portfolio.
• Lead five direct reports and ensure long-term asset management and capital program delivery with safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Council on strategy and policy, shaping medium to long-term plans and driving continuous improvement.
