Job summary
Leica Biosystems seeks a Director, Software Engineering to lead the ASI software engineering organisation across applications, firmware, verification, cybersecurity, architecture, DevSecOps and software quality, delivering product roadmaps and sustainable business impact. This on-site role is based in Mount Waverley, VIC, Australia.
You will lead a high-performing team, partner with Product Management, Systems Engineering and global Leica/Danaher groups to align priorities, risks and delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, CS, systems or electronics.
- 10+ years leading software engineering teams delivering complex products.
- Experience delivering both application and embedded software.
- Strong architecture, lifecycle management and cybersecurity knowledge.
- Experience leading matrixed teams and data-driven improvements.
- Experience budgeting and vendor performance management.
Responsibilities
- Lead software engineering to deliver secure, compliant software.
- Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with roadmaps.
- Drive delivery across new product development and sustainment.
- Advance DevSecOps, AI-enabled productivity, automation.
- Provide technical leadership for architecture and standards.
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering organization.
- Align priorities with Product, PM, Systems Eng, and global teams.
