Job summary

Troocoo Healthcare in rural Queensland seeks an experienced Director of Nursing for a fixed-term contract in Tambo. Lead clinical operations, ensure quality care, and supervise administration and staff within a small centre.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with after-hours on-call and recall. Must hold AHPRA RN registration, RIPRN qualification, and have substantial rural/remote nursing leadership experience. Commitment to contract dates is essential.

Troocoo Healthcare is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing for a rural and remote contract based in Tambo, Queensland.

Contract Details

• Position: Director of Nursing
• Location: Tambo, QLD
• Start Date: 21 September 2026
• End Date: 5 October 2026
• Base Rate: $128.53 per hour
• Monday to Friday roster
• 8:00am to 4:30pm
• On-call and recall requirements after hours and weekends

About the Facility

This Primary Health Care Centre is staffed by a single Director of Nursing and supported by administration and operational staff.

The service:

• Has no inpatient beds
• Provides primary healthcare services to the local community
• Supports surrounding rural and remote properties
• Works closely with Queensland Ambulance Service
• Is supported by community drivers and aeromedical retrieval services for emergencies

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous Queensland Health experience
• Significant Rural and Remote nursing experience
• Current RIPRN (Rural and Isolated Practice Registered Nurse) qualification
• Recent leadership experience at Director of Nursing level
• Current clinical competencies relevant to remote practice
• Ability to commit to the full contract dates (non-negotiable)
