Job summary

Director, Media & Channel Management at ACT Government City and Environment Directorate seeks an experienced communications leader to guide media, social media, campaigns and digital production to inform and engage the Canberra community.

You will provide strategic advice on complex issues, oversee proactive and reactive media activities, build stakeholder relationships across government, and work with executives and Ministerial offices to support priorities, awareness, and reputation.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, media or digital communications, and/or significant leadership experience in media/communications functions.
• Understanding of ACT Government environment and contemporary communication practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead media engagement, social media, campaigns and digital production functions to inform and engage the Canberra community.
• Provide strategic advice on complex issues and oversee proactive and reactive media activities.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and use insights/analytics to drive effective communication outcomes.
• Work closely with executives, Ministerial offices and cross-government communicators to support priorities, community awareness and reputation.
