Job summary

Thomas More College in Adelaide invites applications for the Director of Teaching and Learning - Literacy and Numeracy (POR 3). The role leads whole-school literacy and numeracy improvement initiatives across Years 7-12, shaping curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.

The successful candidate will design professional learning, analyse student data, oversee targeted interventions, and collaborate with Learning Leaders to raise achievement and engagement.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualifications and registration to teach in South Australia.
• Demonstrated expertise in literacy and/or numeracy improvement and curriculum leadership.
• Strong understanding of effective pedagogical practices and educational research.

Responsibilities

• Lead the literacy and numeracy strategy across Years 7-12 with evidence-informed approaches.
• Design and facilitate professional learning to strengthen teacher capability.
• Analyse student achievement data to inform improvement planning and interventions.
• Coordinate targeted literacy and numeracy interventions with Learning Leaders and key stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on progress against College improvement goals.
