Job summary

Mount Alexander Shire Council seeks an exceptional Director Infrastructure and Development to join its Executive Team, leading a broad portfolio of Engineering, Operations, Planning and Parks to deliver thriving communities.

Reporting to the CEO, you will shape strategy, engage with communities and stakeholders, and drive major infrastructure and development projects across the Shire.

You will lead with a values-based approach, emphasising sustainability and collaborative governance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading within complex, community-facing organisations.
• Exceptional internal and external stakeholder engagement skills and a genuine commitment to community partnership.
• Experience delivering significant infrastructure, development or place-based outcomes.
• Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgement and governance capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a broad portfolio including Engineering, Operations, Waste & Climate Change, Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, Planning, Development Services and Grants.
• Guide the strategic direction of the organisation while ensuring successful delivery of services and projects that matter to the community.
• Engage with communities, partners and stakeholders to build trust and participation across the municipality.
