Job summary

St Augustine's College, Cairns is seeking a Director of Administration to support the Principal and Deputy Principal in overall leadership and management. The role oversees daily operations, staff HR, records, and compliance with safety regulations, while advancing the college’s strategic plan within a Catholic education framework.

The position requires sacramental commitment, Catholic education leadership experience, and qualifications in Education and Religion, with registration eligibility

• Develops procedures for maintenance of College records and compliance with WHS.

This position holds a Substantive Permanent Teaching Position within Catholic Education, Diocese of Cairns

Salary Range:Paid in accordance with the Senior Leadership Salary Scale (DP$153,276 to $164,999 FTE gross per annum)

About the Role

Working in partnership with staff, parents and students and in collaboration with the College Leadership team, the Director of Administration supports the Principal and Deputy Principal in the overall leadership and management of the College.

The Director of Administration:

• Oversees the management of the daily organisation of the College in consultation with the Deputy Principal.
• Fosters commitment to the Strategic Plan across the College community.
• Oversees the management of staff, including human resources.
• facilitates in the selection, induction, development and ongoing performance review of staff.
• Develops and supports effective procedures for the maintenance of College records.
• Oversees staff Compliance, WHS regulations and Risk Assessment strategies.

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

• Participation in and commitment to the sacramental life of the Church.
• Understanding and commitment to education in the Catholic tradition.
• Professional qualifications in Education and Religion as per Queensland Catholic Education Commission Position Statement for Senior Leadership Positions in Catholic Schools in Queensland.
• Leadership experience:
  • Demonstrated ability in religious and education leadership;
  • Demonstrated administrative ability;
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships.
• Demonstrated ability in curriculum development including knowledge of contemporary educational issues at state and national levels with particular reference to Religious Education.
• Written and verbal communication skills of a high order.
• Demonstrated commitment to the Pastoral Care of members of the school community.
• Promote child safety at all times
• Skills for building community including facilitation, delegation and consultation
• Professional qualifications in Education.
• Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers.
• Current drivers licence.
• A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision and ethos of Catholic Education.
