Job summary

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) invites applications for the Director, Financial Accounting role. You will lead a small team, deliver statutory reporting, and advise senior executives on financial governance within a dynamic regulatory environment.

You will need extensive executive-level experience, advanced accounting expertise, and membership of CPA Australia or CAANZ, with the ability to obtain Baseline security clearance. Applications close 15 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Extensive executive-level experience leading financial accounting and statutory reporting in a large, complex organisation.
• Advanced technical accounting expertise with Australian Accounting Standards and Commonwealth framework.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate, complete financial accounting, compliance and assurance outcomes.
• Sound judgement and ability to lead at pace, balancing delivery with strategy.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for senior decision-makers.
