Job summary

The University of New England in Armidale seeks a Director of Enterprise Risk and Assurance to lead UNE's risk management and assurance functions. Reporting to the Chief Governance Officer, you will embed contemporary frameworks that support sound decision‑making and coordinate risk, compliance, internal audit and self‑assurance activities across the university.

You will build trusted relationships, lead multidisciplinary teams, prepare Council‑quality reporting and ensure conflicts of interest

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in governance, risk, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in enterprise risk management and institutional assurance.
• Ability to prepare council-quality reporting translating evidence into balanced advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead UNE's enterprise risk management function and strengthen policy governance and assurance.
• Embed practical frameworks to support sound decision-making and coordinate assurance planning, control assessment, and compliance monitoring.
• Oversee internal audit coordination and reporting, and manage conflicts of interest, gifts and benefits governance.
