• Full-time ongoing Senior Executive, Band 1 role TRP from $238,174 to $263,868 per annum including superannuation

About the Role

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is seeking a Director Compliance to lead the NSW- Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) regulatory compliance activities, in the Strategy & Regulatory Policy division. In this critical role, you will lead the development and implementation of compliance programs that support our regulatory objectives through effective risk-based compliance monitoring, education, and enforcement strategies. You will provide high-level strategic direction and oversight of operations that underpin and support the delivery of regulatory services in biosecurity, food safety, and animal welfare. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing underpinning policies, legislation, and risk management strategies that ensure compliance and promote best practices across the organization. You are a visionary leader with a strong commitment to advancing biosecurity, food safety, and animal welfare through the development and implementation of effective regulatory programs. Your expertise lies in implementing and leading risk-based regulatory programs, along with educational initiatives that enhance stakeholder awareness and compliance. You excel in fostering collaboration across divisions, facilitating the creation of innovative and responsive service delivery models that balance regulatory needs with the financial realities of the regulated community. Your proactive approach allows you to anticipate domestic and international challenges, equipping the Executive and Minister's Office with strategic insights on compliance issues that align with government and stakeholder priorities. As a leader, you are dedicated to cultivating a service-oriented culture grounded in continuous improvement, shared values, and teamwork, empowering your team to achieve our collective goals.

You will be able to

• Balance government expectations and political drivers with diverse stakeholder views and demands, navigating legislative and resource constraints to achieve industry compliance objectives.
• Develop and implement efficient risk reduction programs that benefit the economy, community, and environment while minimizing the regulatory burden on businesses.
• Maintain high-quality customer service and deliver innovative regulatory programs amidst increased competition, limited government resources, and rising threats to biosecurity, food safety, and animal welfare.
