Job summary

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations seeks an EL2 leader to drive Closing the Gap policy and oversee reform across the department. You will work with First Nations stakeholders, shape priorities, and report to senior executives on complex policy issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for DEWR's Closing the Gap agenda and drive implementation of the National Agreement across the department.
• Lead organisational reform initiatives that strengthen partnerships, shared decision-making and culturally informed approaches.
• Shape strategic priorities and provide authoritative advice to senior executives and ministers on complex policy and programs.
• Influence executive stakeholders to embed Closing the Gap reforms into departmental policies and ways of working.
• Build high-level relationships with First Nations organisations, community leaders and key stakeholders.
• Lead cross-government collaboration to identify systemic issues and share best practices.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
• Manage teams, resources and priorities to achieve results in evolving environments.
• Foster an inclusive, culturally safe and high-performing workplace through coaching and capability development.
