Job summary

NAB in Australia seeks a Director, Capital Solutions to lead the origination and execution of capital solutions that support the bank's strategic objectives. • Identify and execute asset distribution opportunities with third-party investors to expand NAB's balance sheet capacity.
• Originating and executing innovative funding and risk transfer solutions across the capital stack with private credit and institutional partners.
• Collaborate with Corporate & Institutional Banking, Treasury, Legal, Finance, Risk and Business & Private Banking to solve complex portfolio and funding challenges.
• Drive balance sheet optimisation initiatives that improve risk-adjusted returns and capital efficiency.

Job description

• Work at the intersection of banking, capital markets and institutional investing, structuring innovative solutions for NAB's own balance sheet, and institutional customers
• Influence enterprise-wide balance sheet strategy by leading distribution activities that optimise capital and expand lending capacity
• Originate, structure and manage strategic partnerships with leading private credit funds and institutional investors to deliver innovative and sophisticated financing solutions.

In the role of Director, Capital Solutions you will work closely with our Capital Markets - Origination and Distribution team contributing to key business priorities and continuously improving how we serve our customers.

You’ll make an impact each day by:

• Leading the origination and execution of capital solutions that support NAB's strategic objectives while balancing risk, capital and customer outcomes
• Identifying and executing asset distribution opportunities with third-party investors, creating additional balance sheet capacity for NAB to support customers
• Originating and executing innovative funding and risk transfer solutions across the capital stack, connecting NAB and its customers with private credit, mezzanine and institutional capital partners
• Partnering with teams across Corporate & Institutional Banking, Treasury, Legal, Finance, Risk and Business & Private Banking to solve complex portfolio, funding and capital challenges
• Driving balance sheet optimisation initiatives that improve risk-adjusted returns, manage portfolio concentrations and enhance capital efficiency

You’ll bring to this role:

• Extensive experience within investment banking, institutional banking, private credit, funds management or a similar institutional environment
• Strong debt capital markets, structured finance and/or capital solutions expertise, with a track record of executing complex transactions
• Deep understanding of capital, risk, portfolio management and regulatory considerations within financial services
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships with customers, investors, fund managers and internal business leaders
• Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs, investor expectations, risk appetite and shareholder outcomes
• Resilient, highly organised and collaborative, with sound judgement, strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to step beyond defined responsibilities to achieve the best outcome
