Job summary

The ANZAC Research Institute is seeking an outstanding senior academic to become Director, at Associate Professor or Professor level. The appointee will lead the Institute's strategic plan implementation and provide scientific guidance, liaising with SLHD and academic directors on operational and financial management.

The role is based in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney, and the Director will be a member of the school leadership team, reporting to the Chief Executive

Qualifications

• Hold research doctoral degree with outstanding record in biomedical research relevant to the Institute (aging or related health specialties).
• Proven ability to deliver research to international standards in one or more fields relevant to the Institute.
• Outstanding research track record evidenced by publications, translation and/or HDR supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the Institute's strategic plan and provide scientific guidance.
• Liaise with SLHD and Precinct Academic Directors on operational and financial management.
• Report regularly to the Chief Executive of SLHD and the Dean of FMH or delegates.
• Be based in the School of Medical Sciences at University of Sydney and be a member of the school leadership team.
