Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced commercial leader to drive growth and identify new investments across Australia and New Zealand within a well‑established international group. The role involves strategic planning, investment evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and business development across the APAC region.

You will work with senior leaders across Australia, Japan and the broader Asia‑Pacific, leveraging relationships with investors, government stakeholders and external partners to shape growth

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced commercial leader to join a well-established international investment and business group with a significant presence across the Asia-Pacific region.

Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, this position will play a key role in identifying, evaluating and executing new business and investment opportunities while driving strategic growth initiatives across Australia and New Zealand.

The role works closely with senior stakeholders across Australia, Japan, and the broader Asia-Pacific region, including regular collaboration with Japanese stakeholders and affiliated group companies. Candidates with Japanese language skills or experience working within Japanese corporate environments are encouraged to apply.

About the Role

This is a highly visible position that combines strategic planning, investment evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and business development. The successful candidate will help drive long-term growth through strategic investments, partnerships, acquisitions, and new business ventures across a diverse portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Identifying and developing new business and investment opportunities
• Conducting commercial assessments, market analysis, financial evaluation, and business case development
• Leading due diligence processes and supporting transaction execution
• Developing strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and commercial collaborations
• Driving growth initiatives across existing and emerging sectors
• Building relationships with investors, industry leaders, government stakeholders, and external partners
• Advising executive management on market opportunities, industry developments, and strategic priorities
• Representing the organisation in negotiations, industry forums, and stakeholder engagements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Extensive experience in business development, corporate development, investment, strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, or a related commercial leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing investments, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, or growth initiatives.
• Strong commercial, financial, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience preparing business cases, investment proposals, and strategic recommendations for executive-level decision makers.
• Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Experience working across the Asia-Pacific region or within multinational organisations.
• Japanese language capability and/or experience working with Japanese companies, investors, trading houses, or corporate environments is highly desirable.
• An understanding of Japanese business culture and decision-making processes will be viewed favourably.

Experience within Healthcare & Wellness, Food & Nutrition, Retail & Consumer, Digital Services, or other consumer-related sectors will be highly regarded.
