Job summary

SA Health in South Australia is seeking a Direct Care Worker (Residential) to support residents with personal care tasks, help with mobility and daily living, and maintain a safe, clean environment. Under the Nurse Unit Manager, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to promote comfort, dignity and wellbeing, while assisting with routine treatments and monitoring residents.

Job description

In this role, you will support residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, toileting and mobility, as well as assist with transfers, communication aids, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• You will contribute to client care by assisting with routine treatments, supporting the self-administration of medication on medical authority, and providing input into client assessments, including care for residents with specific needs.
• As a Direct Care Worker (Residential), you will provide direct care and support to residents within a Residential Care Home, assisting with daily living activities and promoting comfort, dignity and wellbeing.
• Working under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will collaborate closely with health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
