Qualifications

• A valid Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe).
• A current Working with Children Check clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the EYLF and National Quality Standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's holistic development.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to centre culture.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• A flexible, patient and empathetic approach to working with young children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate educational programmes and activities based on each child's individual interests, needs and abilities
• Provide safe, supportive and stimulating care for children in your designated room or area
• Observe and assess children's development and learning, documenting progress and sharing insights with families and colleagues
• Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with children, families and team members
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, including proper cleaning, sanitisation and infection control procedures
• Support children's transitions, routines and settling-in processes whilst responding with sensitivity to individual needs
• Encourage children's independence, creativity and problem-solving skills through play-based learning
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's development, achievements and wellbeing
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and participate in staff meetings and professional development activities
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards and centre policies
