Job description

Keysborough Community Children's Centre Inc – Keysborough VIC

Multiple Positions Available | Keysborough Community Children’s Centre

Are you a passionate, experienced Diploma-qualified educator looking for a workplace that gives you the time, staffing and support to be the educator you want to be?

Keysborough Community Children’s Centre (KCCC) is a not-for-profit, community-based early childhood service of 76 places that is open from 7am-6pm Monday to Friday. We are looking for experienced Diploma Qualified Educators to join our fantastic team in 2027.

We pride ourselves on providing a supportive workplace where educators are valued, children are at the centre of our decisions, and quality practice is supported by genuine investment in our people.

New positions created for 2027

These positions have become available as part of a restructure of our 2027 roster, reflecting KCCC’s commitment to investing in our educators and providing high-quality outcomes for children.

As part of this restructure, each room will be staffed with one educator above the required educator-to-child ratio. This has created several new positions within our team and will provide greater support for educators and children throughout the day.

We currently have opportunities available in our:

Nursery

Three-Year-Old Integrated Kindergarten Program

We are recruiting for:

Two part-time positions: 37.5 hours per week, across 5 days

One full-time position: 38 hours per week, including a monthly RDO

Commencement date: 8 January 2027

Positions will initially be offered for 2027. As part of KCCC’s annual workforce planning process, all staff positions are reviewed annually. Our focus is on building a stable, committed and long-term team, and these positions have been created as part of our investment in increased staffing across the service.

Successful applicants will be employed under the Professional Community Standard (PCS 2025), which includes the Wage Retention Grant (WRG).

At KCCC, you can expect:

One educator above ratio in every room, giving you greater support and more time to focus on the children

Additional programming and planning time, so you can plan, reflect and document meaningfully

A warm, supportive family-feel culture where people genuinely look out for one another

A collaborative team where your experience, ideas and professional knowledge are valued

The opportunity to have a real voice in shaping our educational program and practice

The benefits of working in a not-for-profit, community-based service

A team that is genuinely committed to high-quality education and meaningful relationships with children and families

Leadership that invests in our educators, our staffing and the quality of our service

Time in lieu paid for all staff meetings and professional development outside of work hours.

Yearly flu vaccination offered.

KCCC closes for three weeks over the Christmas period.

About the role

As a Diploma Qualified Educator at KCCC, you will play an active role in creating a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment for children.

This isn’t a role where you’re simply expected to “work the floor”. We are looking for experienced educators who want to contribute to the educational program, work collaboratively with their team and play an active role in the ongoing development of our practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building warm, respectful and responsive relationships with children

Developing positive partnerships with families

Actively contributing to programming, observations, documentation, planning and assessment

Working collaboratively with your room team to implement engaging and meaningful learning experiences

Contributing your ideas, knowledge and professional reflections to improve educational practice

Supporting an inclusive environment that respects children’s individual abilities, cultures, backgrounds and identities

Maintaining high standards of supervision, health, safety and wellbeing

Participating in critical reflection and continuous improvement

Working in accordance with the National Quality Framework, approved learning frameworks, service policies and Victorian child-safety requirements

About you

We are looking for educators who are enthusiastic about their profession, bring strong practical experience to their role and genuinely want to be part of a collaborative team.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years’ experience working in early childhood education and care.

You will also:

Hold an approved Diploma-level early childhood education and care qualification, or an equivalent recognised qualification

Hold the required current Working with Children Check and other role-specific clearances and training

Have a genuine commitment to children’s safety, rights and wellbeing

Understand the importance of children’s voices and participation

Be confident contributing to curriculum planning, observations, assessment and documentation

Be reflective and willing to contribute ideas to strengthen and improve practice

Communicate positively and professionally with children, families and colleagues

Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a room and broader centre team

Bring warmth, reliability, professionalism and a sense of fun to your work

Our commitment to child safety

Keysborough Community Children’s Centre is committed to the safety, participation, wellbeing and empowerment of all children.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse and are committed to providing an environment in which children feel safe, are heard and are respected.

We value the diversity of children and families and are committed to culturally safe and inclusive practices.

Our recruitment and selection processes place children’s safety and wellbeing at the forefront.

Successful applicants will be required to participate in KCCC’s child-safe recruitment and screening processes. These may include:

Qualification verification

Employment history checks

Professional referee checks

Working with Children Check verification

Other applicable regulatory screening and pre-employment requirements

Importantly, we look beyond qualifications alone. We want educators who demonstrate through their professional practice, values and decision-making a strong understanding of children’s rights, safety, participation and wellbeing.

Come and work somewhere that invests in educators

If you’re looking for a service where above-ratio staffing is built into the roster, programming time is genuinely valued, and experienced educators are trusted to contribute their knowledge and ideas, we’d love to hear from you.

Our 2027 roster represents a deliberate investment in our people and in providing our educators with the support they need to focus on what matters most:

Relationships. Quality practice. Meaningful learning. Positive outcomes for children.

We are looking for experienced Diploma-qualified educators who want to become valued members of our team and contribute to the next chapter of KCCC.
