Job summary

The Project Manager in Melbourne/Geelong with hybrid work options will lead ongoing IT projects based on Scaled Agile and mobile applications, coordinating internal teams and external vendors. The role reports to the Program Director and guides delivery across multiple workstreams within a large federal agency.

You will drive schedules, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure successful implementation of core technology solutions while championing continuous improvement and security practices.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years IT Project Management within Prince2, PMBOK, Agile, SAFe and hybrid models
• Deep expertise in digital and mobile technologies and integrating external systems into core cloud based business platforms
• Relevant tertiary qualifications; and an industry recognised PM qualification (SAFe preferred)
• React Native and/or Salesforce LWC – HIGHLY regarded
• Project Management in Federal or State Government environments – HIGHLY regarded

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical solution planning activities for new capabilities and features requested by the business
• Work with Architecture, specialist Delivery Teams within Tech Services, and external vendors
• Develop the project schedule and maintain the plan
• Deliver all technical components of the project solution, working with internal and external teams
• Manage delivery partner(s) for system implementation – this will include internal teams, IT teams from shared services partner (another large federal agency) teams and commercial vendor teams
• Work closely with the Product Owner & delivery teams driving day-to-day delivery of the core technology solution sprints
• Provide guidance and point of escalation for resolution for technical issues
• Represent the project in ICT Change and Release Management meetings
• Manage Cyber Security assessments, Penetration testing, go/no-go gates
• Apply DevOps principles to improve quality and reliability
• Project plans, risks, issues and key dependencies
• Present Weekly Status Reports
• Be a champion for continuous improvement

Education

This is a large federal government agency with plans to develop internal IT capability as they move away from a shared services IT model across other departments. The Tech Services Division has a number of transformation programs in progress including the migration of Salesforce LWC to React Native mobile applications.

Role
