Job summary

Sonata Software North America Inc. is seeking an Operations Solution Analyst - Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (Finance) to ensure stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the D365 Finance platform across GL, AP, AR, FA, P2P, O2C, and financial reporting.

You will provide functional and operational support, collaborate with business and IT teams, monitor system health with Dynatrace and Azure, and drive automation and governance through Azure DevOps.

Operations Solution Analyst - Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (Finance)

The Operations Solution Analyst - D365 Finance is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the Dynamics 365 Finance platform. The role provides functional and operational support across core Finance processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Procurement-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Financial Reporting, and Period-End Close activities.

The position supports business continuity through proactive issue resolution, system monitoring, integration support, and collaboration with business and technical teams across a complex enterprise landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support & Incident Management

• Provide L2/L3 support for D365 Finance incidents, service requests, and problem management.
• Perform root cause analysis across D365 Finance and integrated systems.
• Ensure compliance with SLAs and timely issue resolution.
• Support financial period-end, month-end, and year-end processing activities.

Finance Functional Expertise

• Act as SME for D365 Finance modules including:
  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Fixed Assets (FA)
  • Cash & Bank Management
  • Budgeting & Financial Reporting
  • Procurement-to-Pay (P2P)
  • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
• Translate business requirements into user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and solution designs.
• Partner with Finance stakeholders to improve financial controls, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Integration & Enterprise Systems Support

• Support integrations between D365 Finance and connected applications, banking platforms, tax solutions, data warehouses, and reporting tools.
• Perform reconciliation, data validation, and source-to-target analysis.
• Collaborate with Azure Integration and technical teams to resolve cross-system issues.

System Monitoring & Performance Management

• Monitor system health, batch jobs, financial interfaces, and integration performance.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Azure monitoring capabilities.
• Identify and mitigate recurring system and performance issues.

Continuous Improvement & Change Management

• Drive process optimization, automation, and standardization initiatives.
• Support configuration enhancements and controlled changes within D365 Finance.
• Contribute to governance, documentation, and knowledge-sharing practices.

Release & Environment Support

• Support testing, UAT, deployment validation, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.
• Assist in managing Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
• Ensure production readiness and release stability.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Support audit activities, evidence collection, and compliance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to segregation of duties (SoD), financial controls, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain compliance with IT governance and change management processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Engage with Finance business users, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators.
• Manage defects, user stories, and release activities using Azure DevOps.
• Provide clear communication, status reporting, and functional documentation.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3-7+ years of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience.
• Strong expertise in D365 Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management).
• Experience supporting production environments and complex enterprise integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Agile delivery, and release management.
• Knowledge of Azure Integration Services, APIs, Logic Apps, and Service Bus.
• Experience in finance transformation, process improvement, and operational support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Exposure to AI, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications (MB-300, MB-310, or equivalent).
• Experience in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or multi-entity organizations.
• Knowledge of financial compliance, controls, audit, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience in solution design, business process mapping, testing, and deployment support.

This version is more focused on Finance SME capability while maintaining the Operations Support Analyst nature of the role.
