Are you an experienced Digital Engineering Manager looking to lead digital innovation on some of Australia's most significant construction and infrastructure projects?

Gamuda Australia is seeking an accomplished Digital Engineering Manager to lead our digital engineering function across major, complex construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and forward-thinking professional to drive digital strategy, BIM coordination, information management and technology integration across multidisciplinary project teams.

Working closely with senior project leadership, design teams and construction delivery teams, you will play a key role in embedding digital engineering throughout the project lifecycle, improving design coordination, enhancing construction outcomes and driving greater efficiency through the use of innovative digital solutions.

About the role:

Reporting to senior project leadership, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the project's Digital Engineering Strategy, leading the digital engineering team and ensuring that BIM, data and information management processes support the successful delivery of the project.

You will work across design, engineering, construction, project controls and commissioning, ensuring digital engineering is integrated into everyday project delivery rather than operating as a standalone function.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of the project Digital Engineering Strategy, BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and associated digital delivery standards.

Manage and develop the digital engineering team, including BIM Managers, BIM Coordinators, Digital Engineers and specialist technical resources.

Oversee multidisciplinary BIM modelling, model federation, clash detection and design coordination across architectural, structural, civil and building services disciplines.

Identify opportunities to implement automation, data analytics, digital twins and emerging technologies to improve productivity and project performance.

Establish and manage Common Data Environment (CDE) processes, ensuring effective information management, version control, collaboration and data quality.

Drive the integration of digital engineering into construction planning, sequencing, constructability reviews and site delivery.

Work closely with Design Managers, Engineering Managers and Construction Managers to identify and resolve design interfaces, technical conflicts and construction constraints.

About you:

You are an experienced Digital Engineering professional with a strong background in major construction or infrastructure projects. You combine technical BIM expertise with the leadership skills and practical construction knowledge needed to deliver digital engineering solutions in a complex project environment. A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Digital Engineering or a related discipline is desirable, alongside demonstrated industry experience.

Significant experience in digital engineering or BIM management on major construction, infrastructure or multidisciplinary building projects.

Proven experience leading digital engineering teams and managing project-wide BIM and information management requirements.

Strong technical knowledge of BIM coordination, model federation, clash detection and multidisciplinary design integration.

Experience developing Digital Engineering Strategies, BIM Execution Plans and digital delivery procedures.

Strong working knowledge of Common Data Environments and platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate Pro, Revit and Navisworks.

A sound understanding of construction methodologies, buildability, design management and the integration of digital engineering with site delivery.
