Full Time
Closes 28/10/2026
Eucharist28 is a global event held by the Catholic Church that focuses on the celebration of the Eucharist. Sydney has been named as the host of the next Congress which will be held in 2028 and the event is expected to draw tens of thousands of people from all over the world alongside hundreds of thousands of Australians.
The 2028 Congress marks the centenary of Australia’s first International Eucharistic Congress, held in Sydney in 1928. Last hosted in Australia in 1973, and celebrated every four years in a different location around the world, the Congress will once again place Sydney at the global focal point of the Catholic Church, with the ambition of renewing Christian life and to encourage participation in the life and mission of the Church.
The Archdiocese of Sydney, the coordinator of the Congress, is seeking an exceptional marketing professional with a deep commitment to the Church’s mission to take up the challenge of delivering a successful event.
The Digital Engagement and CRM Manager will lead the practical use of Eucharist28’s digital platforms to grow audiences, strengthen engagement and support participants before, during and after the Congress. We are seeking a hands-on expert in CRM and digital marketing tools who can turn platform capabilities into effective campaigns, personalised communications and useful insights.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Partnerships, you will be the functional lead for HubSpot, the website, Funraisin and related engagement platforms. You will build audience segments, configure automated workflows, manage digital content and data capture, and develop dashboards that support marketing, registrations, fundraising and participant communications.
You will work closely with external technology partners and Archdiocesan ICT, translating business requirements into clear briefs and coordinating enhancements, testing and issue resolution. These partners will provide the specialist development, integration and technical infrastructure support, while you lead the platforms’ day-to-day use and effectiveness.
This is a full-time fixed-term position until December 2028.
You are a practical digital specialist who enjoys improving systems as much as interpreting the data they produce. You can connect technical detail with audience needs, explain digital concepts clearly and work collaboratively to resolve issues, enhance journeys and deliver dependable reporting.
Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:
Your impact will be seen in accurate data, effective automation and digital experiences that help people register, engage and stay connected with Eucharist28. You will bring disciplined governance, curiosity and a service-focused approach to the Congress mission.
Applicants must have unrestricted work rights in Australia.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, and must have a current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
The Archdiocese is wholly committed to ensuring the safety, well-being and dignity of all children and adults at risk, and acknowledges its important legal, moral and spiritual responsibility to create a safe and nurturing environment for those children and adults at risk. The Archdiocese has a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. You are encouraged to read the Archdiocese Commitment Statement and Safeguarding Policy.
Additionally, the Archdiocese is committed to continuous improvement to assess and address the risk of modern slavery in its operations and supply chains and to report annually on these actions in the form of a Modern Slavery Statement.
