Job summary

The CSIRO Library in Canberra manages extensive physical and digital collections, supporting researchers with fast access to critical information. You will help fulfil inter-library loan requests, digitisation projects and daily delivery duties within a distributed team.

As part of the Library Collections team, you will ensure high-quality service delivery, maintain repository records, and assist with training and documentation to uphold CSIRO’s information standards.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Librarianship or Information Management or equivalent experience.
• Experience with library collections management and access/delivery.
• Experience with Alma or similar library systems.
• Experience in digitisation and image capture.
• Strong organization and time management to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Undertake collection retrieval, maintenance and end processing of physical collection acquisitions, weeding and re-housing, holdings maintenance, serial check-in and claiming.
• Provide access to Library collections through inter-library loan and collection circulation activities, fulfil document delivery and collection requests for CSIRO people and external requesters.
• Prepare and capture CSIRO publications for inclusion in CSIRO’s Research Publications Repository according to Library standards, including quality assurance checking.
• Maintain clear communication with library users regarding processing and delivery of requests.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver Black Mountain Library onsite services and programs.
• Contribute to on-the-job training of Library colleagues in areas of subject matter expertise, including developing and maintaining guidelines and related documentation.
