Job summary

Cummins Mt Isa is seeking a Workshop technician to join our team specialising in engine repairs and maintenance. You will service heavy diesel products across automotive, mining, industrial and agricultural sectors, diagnose engines, inspect components, and complete engine rebuilding as needed.

The role requires a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification (Australian standards), diesel experience, and a valid Australian driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Heavy diesel experience preferred.
• Solid diagnostic, electronic and IT capabilities.
• Valid Australian Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a first-class service to customers in automotive, mining, industrial and agricultural sectors.
• Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
• Diagnose and repair engines.
• Inspect and replace components as required.
• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning.
• Complete required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims and quality documents.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Deliver a first-class service to our customers across automotive, mining, and industrial and agricultural
• Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products
• Diagnose and repair engines
• Inspect and replace components as required
• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Relevant Heavy Diesel trade qualification - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter (to Australian standards)
• Experienceas a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products preferred
• Previous workshop exposure would be highly regarded
• Solid diagnostic, electronic and IT capabilities
• Valid Australian Driver’s license required
