Job summary

JBS Prime City Feedlot in NSW seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join the Maintenance Team. You will maximise equipment reliability by preventative maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs across a diverse fleet of trucks and agricultural machinery.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday (38 hours/week) with a starting rate of AU$39 per hour. Onsite accommodation may be available for suitable candidates, supporting a stable rural work environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified diesel mechanic with post-trade experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Experience with maintenance/repair in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Will to share information and skills.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and quality assurance.
• Ability to identify faults and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of a diverse fleet.
• Perform timely breakdown repairs to keep equipment available.
• Work across heavy vehicles and agricultural machinery (trucks, feeders, loaders, tractors).
• Ensure all mechanical work meets safety, housekeeping and regulatory requirements.

Job description

JBS Prime City Feedlot is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its Maintenance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for maximising equipment reliability and availability by carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, and timely breakdown repairs. You will work across a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and machinery, including trucks, feeding equipment, front-end loaders, screening equipment, tractors, and other agricultural machinery, ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Full-time position

Monday to Friday – 38 hours per week

Starting rate for this role is $39 per hour

Single onsite accommodation may be available for suitable candidates

About You

• Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic with post-trade experience
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Experience with maintenance/repair in a fast-paced environment
• Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Sound communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• Good work ethic and a willingness to share information and skills
• Sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices and quality assurance
• Demonstrated ability to identify faults with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems, including experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagnosis
• Ability to ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant legislation
