Job summary

Cummins Toowoomba is seeking an apprentice-trained Engine Technician to diagnose and repair engines in our Workshop. You will work with our team to service customer engines and ensure quality workmanship.

You will perform preventative maintenance, complete documentation, and escalate issues as needed. The role requires a valid local driver's license and a Cert III in Engine Technology; heavy vehicle experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent.
• Basic level workshop or field service experience.
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
• Heavy Vehicle experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete repairs to engines at the Workshop.
• Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
• Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
• Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
• Identify additional service opportunities with customer.
• Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
• Complete in workshop repairs as required.

Job description

Based out of our Toowoomba branch in Queensland, you will diagnose and complete repairs to engines at the Workshop.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.

Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.

Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

Identify additional service opportunities with customer.

Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.

Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

Complete in workshop repairs as required

Additional Information:

Full Time / 38 hours per week

Overtime as required - Penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours

All your Safety equipment / PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered

Local Valid Drivers License is required

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent

Basic level of workshop or field service experience required

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Heavy Vehicle Experience preferred
