Job summary

MRAEL, in partnership with BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), is offering a Diesel Fitting Apprenticeship at Caval Ridge Mine, Moranbah. The program starts January 2027 and combines on‑the‑job training with a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.

You will learn from experienced technicians on a 7/7 roster, with emphasis on safety, diagnostics and repair of heavy mining equipment, and reading electrical schematics. Local residents and mature applicants are invited to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in heavy equipment and auto-electrical work.
• Basic reading of electrical schematics is advantageous.
• Commitment to safety and learning on the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance, diagnostics and repair of heavy mining equipment.
• Learn to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
• Support inspections and fault finding in a team setting.
• Adhere to strict safety and workplace procedures.
