Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join our maintenance team supporting Aeris Resources' mining operations near Nyngan, NSW. This role offers $75–$80 per hour + super on all rostered hours, a permanent full-time employment model, and a 7/7 FIFO roster from Brisbane with camp accommodation and meals provided.

You will maintain and repair heavy earthmoving equipment, focusing on safe operations, fleet availability and production performance with a modern fleet and supportive

Qualifications

• A recognised Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade qualification.
• Experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment in mining or earthmoving.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to perform planned maintenance and breakdown repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy earthmoving equipment in a production mining environment.
• Carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Ensure equipment operates safely, reliably and with high availability.

About the role

You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment to support safe operations and maximise fleet availability. Working within a production mining environment, you'll carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to keep equipment operating reliably.

About you

You’ll be a safety-focused tradesperson who takes pride in your workmanship and understands the demands of maintaining heavy equipment in a mining environment.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• A recognised Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent relevant trade qualification
• Previous experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment in mining or heavy earthmoving
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with planned maintenance and breakdown repairs
• A commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship
• The ability to work a rotating 7/7 day and night roster
• A current Australian driver's licence
