Job summary

Guerrilla Maintenance Services in Cairns, QLD, is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers for a mining and construction project on a local tin mine at Mount Garnet. You will perform mechanical install, pipework, and safety guarding on a challenging site, operating on an 8/6 roster with 12-hour days.

Candidates should have trade qualifications and mining experience, own transport, and be able to pass D&A testing. FIFO options may be considered for future projects.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified mechanical fitter and/or boilermaker/welder with mining experience.
• Minimum 2 years site experience, mining preferred.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a team.
• Must pass D&A testing and meet site requirements.
• Must have Australian work rights or valid visa.

Guerrilla Maintenance Services (GMS) is chasing experienced Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers for a current mining and construction project.

About GMS

Guerrilla Maintenance Services specialise in engineering, maintenance and construction services to the Australian mining industry. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, strong safety standards and backing our crews onsite.

The Role

You’ll be working on a local tin mine in Mount Garnet, QLD. Completing construction and commissioning works for the client, with a strong GMS team on a 8/6 roster

• Mechanical installation and fit-up works
• Safety works, including guarding installation
• Pipework, structural steel, platework and fabrication
• Working from drawings, plans and job packs
• Maintaining high safety and quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter and/or Boilermaker/Welder
• Ability to problem solve in remote locations, out of the box thinking to contribute to the team environment
• Must have reliable own transport to and from site on start and finish days
• Coal Board medical or MMQSHRS

• Minimum 2 years site experience (mining highly regarded)
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a team
• Ability to pass D&A testing and meet site requirements
• Valid work visa or Australian work rights required

Tickets / Requirements

• Lung screen + MMQ/RSHQ or Coal Board Standard 11
• Working at Heights + Confined Space (within last 2 years preferred – expired considered)
• High Risk Work Licences advantageous (EWP, Forklift, Telehandler)
• RIG/DOG tickets highly regarded
• First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
• Pre-employment medical
