Chief Exploration Drilling Pty Ltd in Orange, NSW is seeking an experienced Diamond Driller to join our long-standing, family-owned team. You will operate drilling equipment safely, maintain quality, and contribute to productive exploration programs.

We offer a stable, long-term role with a typical 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster, DIDO from Orange, NSW, and a negotiable day rate that reflects experience.

Qualifications

• Proven Diamond drilling experience. RC drilling experience valued.
• Strong understanding of exploration drilling operations.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Diamond drilling operations per programs and site specs.
• Perform daily pre-starts, inspections and maintenance.
• Carry out routine servicing and repairs as required.
• Maintain accurate mud/logs, metreage and shift reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and client reps.
• Maintain high housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with crew while making independent decisions

About the Role

Working across our exploration drilling operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating drilling equipment while maintaining a high standard of quality and productivity.

The role is DIDO from Orange, NSW, with a typical roster of 2 weeks on / 1 week off, although rosters may vary depending on operational requirements.

A competitive day rate will be offered based on experience, skills and capabilities - negotiable Salary package available for the right person.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven experience as a Diamond Driller (+ RC Drilling experience valued)

• Strong understanding of exploration drilling operations

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment

• A technical mindset and practical approach to problem solving

• Strong commitment to safety and quality

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Good communication skills and a professional attitude

• Previous experience working on a DIDO roster, or a genuine understanding of what DIDO work involves

• Current driver's licence - HR or HC desired

• Relevant drilling tickets, competencies and experience

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Diamond drilling operations in accordance with drilling programs, client specifications and site requirements

• Complete daily pre-starts, inspections and preventative maintenance

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs where required

• Maintain accurate drilling records, metreage, shift reports and other required documentation ensuring all drilling activites are completed in accordance with site requirements and safety standards

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, client representatives and other site personnel

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, equipment care and environmental responsibility

• Work collaboratively as part of the crew while being capable of making sound decisions independently
