Job summary
Marathon Health in Bathurst/Orange is seeking a Diabetes Educator to empower individuals and families with person-centred diabetes support across regional communities. The role blends clinical care, education, and community connection, with outreach to rural areas.
You will work within our Primary Health Team, mentor students, and collaborate with GPs and Aboriginal Health Services to improve health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Dietetics, Podiatry, Pharmacy, or Exercise Physiology.
- Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education (or willingness to obtain).
- ADEA credentialling (or working towards it).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across cultures.
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisational and digital skills.
- Current Driver's Licence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality diabetes education to individuals, families, and groups.
- Provide outreach services to rural and remote communities.
- Build partnerships with GPs, Aboriginal Health Services and other stakeholders.
- Support clients through coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
- Mentor students and contribute to best-practice models.
- Use your expertise to improve accessibility and health outcomes for priority populations.
