Job summary

Colonial First State (CFS) seeks a DevOps Engineer to design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation within the FirstChoice & Edge Technology Operations Team. You will work across CI/CD, cloud-hosted platforms, and platform performance to drive reliable software delivery and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with developers, architects, testers and delivery teams, applying DevSecOps and IaC practices, with strong emphasis on tooling like Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python

Qualifications

• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation design and maintenance.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub and GitHub Actions in cloud environments.
• Strong DevSecOps, IaC, automation, scripting (Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python, .NET).
• Proven releases, monitoring and observability with focus on reliability and outcomes.
• Proactive, collaborative problem solver in Agile environments.
• Desirable degree in Information Technology, CS or related discipline.

• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts, and delivery teams to promote DevOps best practices.
• Contribute to platform enhancements, technology uplift initiatives, and future roadmap planning.

Your Team

The FirstChoice & Edge Technology Operations Team sits within the COO and is responsible for the development and support of FirstChoice, Fund Services systems, and Edge Platform Operations. The team plays a key role in delivering CFS's strategic priorities, including adviser and customer growth, partner expansion, retirement solutions, and technology transformation. The DevOps Engineer reports to the Environment Manager and works closely with stakeholders across Technology, Infrastructure, Cyber, Digital, Data & Analytics, Risk & Compliance, Product, and Customer Operations teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to improve software delivery and release efficiency.
• Manage and support DevOps platforms including GitHub, Jenkins, deployment tools, and build infrastructure.
• Maintain cloud-hosted applications, infrastructure automation, and platform performance.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues, platform incidents, and provide Level 2/3 operational support.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts, and delivery teams to promote DevOps best practices.
• Contribute to platform enhancements, technology uplift initiatives, and future roadmap planning.

Your Capability and Experience

• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub and GitHub Actions within cloud-based environments.
• Strong expertise in DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation and scripting technologies including Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python and .NET.
• Proven capability managing releases, monitoring and observability, with a focus on service reliability, operational excellence and customer outcomes.
• A proactive and adaptable problem solver who takes ownership, works collaboratively across teams, communicates effectively with stakeholders and delivers outcomes in Agile environments.
• Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline (Desirable).
