Job summary

FinXL IT Professional Services in Melbourne is seeking a proactive DevOps Engineer to join our client’s Azure ecosystem. You will help design and operate automated delivery pathways, IaC pipelines, and testing to support concurrent workloads and service migrations from day one.

You will collaborate with Cloud and Data Engineering teams, implement DevSecOps gates, and establish monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to ensure reliability and secure deployments

Qualifications

• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and software workloads.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform/Bicep) and automation scripting.
• Knowledge of security scanning and policy testing within pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions.
• Integrate Terraform/Bicep into deployment workflows for automated provisioning.
• Implement automated quality gates, security scans, and policy checks in pipelines.
• Establish monitoring and alerting across Azure with Monitor/Log Analytics/Insights.
• Support agile delivery practices, branching strategies, and release management.

We are seeking a proactive DevOps Engineer to be a part of our customer's modern Azure ecosystem. Working alongside the Cloud and Data Engineering teams during an Azure landing zone build, you will ensure automated delivery pathways, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code pipelines are operational from day one to support concurrent workload deployment and service migration.

Key Responsibilities

• CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Design, build, and optimise automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions for both infrastructure and software/data workloads.
• Infrastructure Deployment Automation: Partner with Cloud Engineers to integrate IaC scripts (Terraform/Bicep) into fully automated, version-controlled delivery workflows.
• Environment & Policy Enforcement: Implement automated quality gates, security scans, and policy checks (DevSecOps) directly within deployment pipelines.
• Monitoring & Observability: Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions across the Azure environment using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Operational Excellence: Support data and cloud engineers in establishing agile delivery standards, branching strategies, and release management frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Strong experience integrating Terraform or Bicep into deployment pipelines for automated provisioning.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for operational scripting and process automation.
• Experience incorporating static analysis, secret scanning, and automated policy testing into CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on experience setting up Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and centralised diagnostic logging.
