Job description

Registered Psychologist | Assessment & Therapy | Join Internal Sunshine Psychology

Do you enjoy the variety of psychology? From the puzzle-solving involved in a complex assessment to the meaningful work of supporting someone through therapy? We’d love to meet you

Internal Sunshine Psychology is growing, and we’re looking for a Registered Psychologist who enjoys working across both psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention

We’re a boutique private practice based in Beaconsfield, Melbourne, with a commitment to providing thoughtful, neuroaffirming, culturally responsive and evidence-based psychological care

The role

We are looking for a psychologist who enjoys clinical variety and would like the opportunity to work across assessment and therapy, with a diverse client population

Depending on your interests and experience, your work may include

  • Autism and ADHD assessments across the lifespan
  • Cognitive and educational assessments, including learning difficulties, giftedness and twice-exceptionality
  • Psychological assessments and diagnostic formulation
  • Individual therapy with children, adolescents and adults
  • Supporting clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges and adjustment difficulties
  • Working collaboratively with families, schools, GPs and other health professionals
  • We are interested in what you enjoy clinically and where you’d like to grow. We want to build a role that makes good use of your existing strengths while allowing you to develop areas of further interest
Why Internal Sunshine

We know that a positive clinical experience starts with a positive workplace

At Internal Sunshine, we value
  • Clinical autonomy: The opportunity to exercise your professional judgement and develop your own clinical interests
  • Variety in your work: A balance of assessment and therapy rather than being confined to one area of practice
  • Collaboration: A multidisciplinary team of psychologists who value consultation, shared learning and clinical discussion
  • Professional development: Opportunities for ongoing learning, specialist training and clinical development
  • Supportive leadership: Accessible leadership, regular opportunities for consultation and a workplace where your contributions are valued
  • Meaningful work: Working with a diverse community and providing care that is respectful of individual, cultural and neurodevelopmental differences
Who we’re looking for

You will be

  • A fully registered psychologist with AHPRA
  • Interested in both psychological assessment and therapeutic work
  • Confident in clinical reasoning, assessment and report writing, or motivated to further develop these skills
  • Comfortable working with children, adolescents and/or adults
  • Someone who values neuroaffirming, culturally responsive and evidence-based practice
  • Collaborative, reflective and genuinely interested in contributing to a positive team culture
  • Experience in autism, ADHD or educational assessments would be highly regarded, although we are also interested in psychologists with strong therapeutic backgrounds who would like to expand their assessment experience
