Singleton Council is seeking a Development Planner to assess development applications and advise on land use, zoning and compliance. The role sits in Development and Regulatory Services and offers a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week with a graded salary and vehicle allowance.

The successful candidate will hold a degree or diploma in Town Planning, have knowledge of relevant legislation and strong report writing and communication skills.

The Development Planner contributes to important community outcomes and making a real impact for Singleton. This role sits within Council’s Development and Regulatory Services, responsible for providing a progressive, relevant system that enhances social, economic and environmental land use development in a timely transparent way.

Responsible for the assessment of development applications and provision of written & verbal advice in relation to land use, zoning, permissibility and compliance with relevant legislation & Council policies, you will be challenged in a rewarding and supportive environment.

A degree or diploma in Town Planning or relevant discipline and relevant experience in development assessment is essential for this role, complemented by sound knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and associated legislation, and sound written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare reports.

This position is offered on a Permanent, Full-time basis working 35 hours per week.

Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 11 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $92,235 - $103,751 per annum plus a vehicle allowance of $18,895 per annum, and $3,000 annual retention bonus (where applicable, for first 2 years of service) totaling a TRP of $127,826 - $140,724 per annum inc superannuation.
